Validation of the tourist register
Since the beginning of 2011, pursuant to the amendment of the Law on Tourism and the Law on local taxes, the tourist fee was converted into tourist tax, which is administered by regions by Local Taxes and Fees Directorate.
From 03 January 2011 Tourist Service Municipal Enterprise has closed its bank account for payment of tourist fees.
The Municipal Council shall determine the amount of tourist tax pursuant to Ordinance for fixing the amount of local taxes, amended and supplemented with Decision No 3, Porotcol No 81 dd 13.01.2011, in Article 58, para. 1 and § 13 of the Transitional and Final Provisions.
Art. 58. (1) The Municipal Council shall determine the amount of the tourist tax for 2011 for each night, as follows:
1. Category 1-star – 0.60 Leva per night;
2. Category 2-stars – 1.20 Leva per night;
3. Category 3-star – 1.80 Leva per night;
4. Category 4-star – 2.40 Leva per night;
5. Category 5-star – 3.00 Leva per night;

(1)The amount of the tourist tax for January 2011 for accommodation establishments is defined as follows:
1. Category 1-star – 0.60 Leva per night;
2. Category 2-stars – 0.80 Leva per night;
3. Category 3-star – 1.00 Leva per night;
4. Category 4-star – 1.00 Leva per night;
5. Category 5-star – 1.00 Leva per night;
The tourism tax is already paid to the bank accounts of the regional divisions of the Local Taxes and Fees Directorate, which are listed in the Registration menu.
The validation of the tourist register by submitting declarations is carried out by Tourist Services Municipal Enterprise. According to the Law on Tourism, in the event of default under Art. 49, para. 1 / Persons performing hotel accommodation activities are obliged to keep records of the tourists and the number of nights, including the nationality of the tourist. / and para 3 / Persons performing hotel accommodation activities are required to submit monthly data on nights spent at the municipality / the tourist establishment is subject to termination of the certificate of approved category, pursuant to Art. 53, para. 1, item 7 of the Law on Tourism.
