During the second day of participation of Sofia Municipality in the WTM – 2011 International Tourism Fair, the promotional and information desk, presenting Sofia as capital city and tourist destination, was visited by Mr Traycho Traykov, Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism. Dipl. Eng. Stoyan Lazarov, Director of Tourist Service Municipal Enterprise and head of the delegation of Sofia Municipality, briefed Minister Traykov on the new tourism products for Sofia Destination. During the meeting, which was attended also by Deputy Minister Ivo Marinov, Mr Traykov was interested in the pilgrimage routes to the monasteries of the so-called Sofia Minor Mount Athos and expressed satisfaction with the wide variety of promotional and informational materials representing Sofia as an attractive tourist destination. After meeting, Mr Lazarov presented Minister Traykov a batch with the emblem of the city.

Mr Traycho Traykov is in London to represent Bulgaria at the annual meeting of the Ministers of Tourism, organized by the World Tourism Organization within the World Travel Market exhibition. This year's meeting will discuss the future of the tourism industry after the peak of the global economic recession.
