INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, MARKETING AND ADVERTISING DEPARTMENT

The International Relations, Marketing and Advertising Department is a structural unit of the Tourist Service Municipal Enterprise, which presents and promotes Sofia as a tourist destination in the country and abroad. The department organizes the participation of Sofia in national and international tourism fairs, exhibitions and events connected with tourism. It performs marketing research of established and potential markets for the tourist product of the municipality that may serve as the basis for the development of advertising and communication campaigns.

In the department staff organizes and carries the out advertising of Sofia as a tourist destination and contributes to the promotion of the tourist product of Sofia City Municipality, conducts studies in the field of tourism promotion and effectiveness analyses; organizes the work with advertising agencies, media and specialized public relations institutions; organizes cognitive tours for foreign journalists and visits at foreign tour operators and travel agents in the country, together with the trade and economic sections of diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Bulgaria; organizes and consults the drafting and publishing of promotional materials (printed advertisements, audio-visual advertising, item advertising, out-door advertising), representing Sofia as an attractive tourist destination; collects, processes, maintains and preserves unified tourism information system as a single electronic database; participates in the development and ensure the updating of the official website of Tourist Service Municipality Enterprise; liaises with the media and organizes meetings and interviews of media representatives with the enterprise managers.

The department develops information materials for the activity of the Tourist Service Municipal Enterprise and its individual structures (newsletters, media monitoring, information, messages); works out an annual programme for the participation of the enterprise in national and international tourism fairs and promotional campaigns thus implementing the Strategy and the Plan for development of tourism in Sofia, adopted by Decision № 281/27.04.2006 by Sofia City Municipal Council.
